Classic Car Pre-Purchase Inspection · Cedar Park, Texas

Know the car before it becomes your car.

A beautiful classic can still hide corrosion, aging systems, poor prior repairs, and expensive mechanical needs. Our flat-rate inspection gives buyers an experienced, independent look before money and ownership change hands.

Buy With Better Information

A listing shows the highlights. An inspection looks for the consequences.

Exclusively Classics inspects classic, vintage, collector, muscle, and specialty vehicles by appointment at our Cedar Park shop. We evaluate the car as an older vehicle, where originality, repair history, parts availability, and the quality of previous work matter as much as whether it starts and drives.

The standard $750 service is a visual and operational, non-invasive inspection of one passenger vehicle. It includes documented findings and a buyer-focused review of the issues that may affect safety, reliability, usability, and likely next steps. Disassembly, laboratory testing, and specialized diagnostics are outside the flat-rate scope unless separately approved.

What We Inspect

A practical review of the systems that shape risk, cost, and enjoyment.

Every older vehicle is different. We follow the evidence the car presents while covering the major accessible systems below.

01

Body, Paint, and Corrosion

Visible rust, panel alignment, finish condition, signs of prior repairs, weather seals, glass, trim, and accessible structural areas.

02

Engine and Drivetrain

Starting, idle, visible leaks, cooling, fuel delivery, transmission operation, driveline behavior, and obvious service concerns.

03

Brakes, Steering, and Suspension

A practical review of wear, looseness, leaks, braking behavior, steering response, tires, wheels, and suspension condition.

04

Electrical and Interior Systems

Operation of accessible lighting, gauges, switches, charging and starting systems, climate controls, windows, and interior equipment.

05

Road Test When Appropriate

A road test when the vehicle is registered, insured, safe, and legally operable, with attention to drivability, noises, temperatures, shifting, braking, and tracking.

06

Documented Buyer Findings

Written findings with supporting photos and a practical explanation of urgent concerns, near-term needs, and longer-range considerations.

Flat-Rate Scope

Common Questions

Pre-Purchase Inspection Questions

How much is a classic car pre-purchase inspection?

The standard pre-purchase inspection is a flat $750 for one passenger vehicle inspected by appointment at the Exclusively Classics shop in Cedar Park, Texas. Any specialized testing or disassembly outside the standard inspection requires separate approval.

What does the $750 inspection include?

It includes a non-invasive review of the accessible body, paint, corrosion, engine, drivetrain, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical and interior systems, a road test when the car is safe and legal to drive, plus documented findings and supporting photos.

Do you inspect cars at the seller's location?

The flat-rate service is performed at our Cedar Park shop. If the vehicle cannot be driven, contact us before booking so transport options and vehicle condition can be discussed.

Is a pre-purchase inspection the same as an appraisal?

No. The inspection documents visible condition and operational concerns to help with a purchase decision. It is not a certified valuation, title verification, state safety inspection, emissions inspection, or guarantee against hidden defects.

Can an inspection find every problem in a classic car?

No non-invasive inspection can reveal every hidden condition. Internal engine wear, concealed corrosion, covered wiring, intermittent faults, and problems hidden by prior repairs may require disassembly or specialized testing. The goal is to reduce uncertainty and identify the concerns visible during the appointment.

Do I need to own the car before scheduling?

No. Pre-purchase inspections are specifically for buyers evaluating a vehicle before completing a purchase. You will need the seller's permission and a plan to have the vehicle available at the scheduled time.
