Mechanical Repair & Upgrades

Classic-car mechanical expertise for the way you want to drive.

From dependable weekend driving to a fully reworked powertrain, we repair, tune, and upgrade classic vehicles as complete systems while respecting the character of the car.

Exclusively Classics handles focused mechanical repairs, drivability improvements, and coordinated performance builds at our Cedar Park shop. That includes Vintage A/C installation, LED lighting upgrades, EFI conversions, engine and transmission swaps, suspension and brake upgrades, custom fabrication, and engine or carburetor tuning.

Every change has to work with the systems around it. A powertrain swap can affect mounts, driveline geometry, cooling, fuel delivery, wiring, exhaust, brakes, and suspension. We plan those relationships before installation so the finished car works as one vehicle instead of a collection of unrelated parts.

Capabilities

Work shaped around the needs of the vehicle.

Vintage A/C Systems

Air-conditioning installation and integration planned around engine brackets, cooling capacity, electrical load, hose routing, controls, and interior appearance.

LED Lighting Upgrades

Brighter, lower-draw exterior and interior lighting with the wiring, flashers, grounds, housings, and controls needed for dependable operation.

Engine & Transmission Swaps

Powertrain planning and installation, including the supporting mounts, driveline, cooling, fuel, wiring, exhaust, controls, and fabrication the conversion requires.

EFI Conversions

Electronic fuel-injection conversions with coordinated fuel delivery, sensors, ignition, wiring, calibration, and cold-start drivability.

Suspension & Brake Upgrades

Disc-brake conversions, hydraulic improvements, steering and suspension work, and balanced upgrades for safer stopping, handling, and road manners.

Engine & Carburetor Tuning

Diagnosis and tuning for starting, idle quality, throttle response, ignition, fuel mixture, cooling, reliability, and usable performance.

Custom Fabrication

Purpose-built brackets, mounts, panels, routing solutions, and one-off components that integrate modern systems cleanly into classic vehicles.

Our Process

Clear steps for complicated classic-car work.

  1. 01

    Define the goal

We learn how the car behaves today, how you want to use it, and whether the priority is repair, comfort, reliability, performance, or a larger conversion.

  2. 02

    Inspect and plan the system

The team checks the vehicle and the supporting systems that interact with the proposed repair or upgrade before components are selected.

  3. 03

    Install and integrate

Mechanical, electrical, and fabricated components are fitted with attention to serviceability, appearance, safety, and the surrounding vintage systems.

  4. 04

    Test, tune, and document

Completed systems are checked, calibrated, and road-tested when appropriate, then the work and any follow-up recommendations are reviewed with you.

Common Questions

Mechanical Repair & Upgrades Questions

Do you install Vintage A/C systems in classic cars?

Yes. We install and integrate classic-car A/C systems with attention to available space, compressor brackets, electrical capacity, engine cooling, hose routing, controls, and the desired interior appearance.

Can you convert a carbureted classic car to EFI?

Yes. An EFI conversion can improve cold starts, altitude compensation, and everyday drivability when the fuel system, ignition, sensors, electrical supply, and calibration are planned together.

Do you perform engine and transmission swaps?

Yes. We plan and perform engine and transmission swaps, including the supporting fabrication and changes to mounts, driveline geometry, cooling, fuel delivery, wiring, exhaust, controls, brakes, and suspension when the project requires them.

Can you upgrade a classic car to LED lighting?

Yes. We can upgrade exterior and interior lighting while considering housings, beam pattern, polarity, grounds, wiring condition, flashers, dimmers, and the appearance you want to preserve.

Do you install suspension and brake performance upgrades?

Yes. We install suspension and brake upgrades selected for the vehicle, wheel and tire package, intended use, and the condition of the surrounding steering and hydraulic systems.

Can you tune my engine or carburetor without doing a full build?

Yes. Focused diagnosis and tuning can address hard starting, idle quality, hesitation, ignition timing, fuel mixture, cooling, and drivability without turning the visit into a full restoration or powertrain build.
